English Proficiency Testing

Home > CIP > English Proficiency Testing > TOEFL

The TOEFL test is a measurement of general English proficiency. It is used by students who apply for admission to Marshall University to satisify the English proficiency requirement. The TOEFL is not a test of academic aptitude or a test of subject matter competence, nor is it a direct test of English speaking for writing ability.

Marshall University is an international testing site for the TOEFL and the test is available as a computer-based exam at the Marshall University Testing Center. For more information about testing times, fees and location, please visit the Marshall University Computer Based Testing Center.

The Center for International Programs conducts the institutional TOEFL test about five times per year. The scores obtained from the institutional TOEFL test can only be reported to Marshall University.
