International students coming from countries where English is not the native language must show evidence of proficiency in the English language for admission purposes as indicated by one of the following*: a. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum score of 500 for undergraduate study (or 173 on the Computer-Based TOEFL) and 525 for graduate study (or 197 on the Computer-Based TOEFL). Scores should be reported directly to Marshall University Admissions Office by the Educational Testing Service, Princeton, New Jersey or by the supervisor of Marshall University's Institutional TOEFL program. b. Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) equated score of 79% minimum for undergraduate study or 82% minimum for graduate study. Marshall University is an official, international testing-site for the MELAB. c. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score
of 6 for undergraduate study and 6.5 for graduate study. (More information
about the IELTS is available on their website at www.ielts.org.
IELTS is jointly managed by the d. Successful completion of the advanced level in an intensive English program comparable to level 109 of Marshall University's L.E.A.P. intensive English Program. e. A degree or diploma from an accredited high school, college or university in which the language of instruction is English.
