Ways to GoMarshall University sponsors a number of study abroad programs, many of which allow students to receive academic credit while continuing to pay the low fees at Marshall University and receive financial aid. These study abroad programs include Junior Year Abroad and Semester Abroad, and Short-Term Study Abroad programs. Marshall University is a member of the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP), a multilateral students exchange network involving over 135 foreign universities from which students can choose to exchange for a semester or a year. Students pay room, board, tuition and fees at Marshall University and then take the place of an outgoing student at an ISEP-member foreign institution for a semester or academic year. Forty-five foreign universities in the ISEP network offer programs taught in English, and about 90 programs require foreign language proficiency for participation. Students are free to participate in other bona fide academic programs at foreign institutions (including programs coordinated at other universities) and receive academic credit with permission from Marshall University before departure. In the past Marshall University students have also gone abroad under
the auspices of the following programs: Other West Virginia colleges &
university programs via the FACDIS network, The Great Lakes Colleges Consortium,
Brethren Colleges Abroad, Randolph-Macon Women's College, University of
Kansas, University of Kentucky.
